Diseño de un sistema de votaciones electorales web basado en Blockchain

Abstract

If we take as a main basis the electronic voting scheme and the advantages it of ers over the traditional system, we can extol its look towards the modernization of theelectoral process and how it has been one of the most important technological implementations of the last century, through this system technological tools are used for vote counting, statistics and unification of electoral information and has been involved in many controversies regarding the very possible misrepresentation of the information received in favor of an electoral candidate and is that these suspicions of fraud arise from the great problem that this nation has, corruption. " Information that increasingly needs more and more protection due to the great wave of digitization that we live in today's world, and this is when a new emerging technology called "Blockchain", which is "a decentralized digital ledger in a peer-to-peer network, where each participant keeps a copy of the ledger of only appending of encrypted and digitally signed transactions"(Huang et al.2021) and is presented in a disruptive way to bring great changes to the world as we know it. This new technology has as its strong point the fact that it presents solutions to problems raised in Web 2.0 such as security and the use of user data. On the other hand, Ahn, B. (2022) talks about the need to improve conventional electronic voting systems, since they have large security gaps and are not in the real capacity to be used for public elections, thus raising the need for a decentralized voting system based on Blockchain technology, ensuring transparency and confidentiality.

Si tomamos como base principal el esquema de voto electrónico y las ventajas que tiene sobre el sistema tradicional, podemos exaltar su mirada hacia la modernización del proceso electoral y cómo ha sido una de las implementaciones tecnológicas más importantes del último siglo, a través de este sistema se utilizan herramientas tecnológicas para el conteo de votos, estadísticas y unificación de la información electoral y se ha visto envuelto en muchas controversias respecto a la muy posible tergiversación de la información recibida a favor de un candidato electoral y es que estas sospechas de fraude surgen del gran problema que tiene esta nación, la corrupción. " Información que cada vez necesita más protección debido a la gran ola de digitalización que vivimos en el mundo actual, y es entonces cuando una nueva tecnología emergente llamada "Blockchain", que es "un libro de contabilidad digital descentralizado en una red peer-to-peer, donde cada participante mantiene una copia del libro de contabilidad de sólo apéndices de transacciones encriptadas y firmadas digitalmente"(Huang et al.2021) y se presenta de forma disruptiva para traer grandes cambios al mundo tal y como lo conocemos. Esta nueva tecnología tiene como punto fuerte el hecho de presentar soluciones a problemas planteados en la Web 2.0 como la seguridad y el uso de los datos de los usuarios. Por otro lado, Ahn, B. (2022) habla de la necesidad de mejorar los sistemas de votación electrónica convencionales, ya que tienen grandes lagunas de seguridad y no están en la capacidad real de ser utilizados para las elecciones públicas, planteando así la necesidad de un sistema de votación descentralizado basado en la tecnología Blockchain, que garantice la transparencia y la confidencialidad.
