Implementación de soluciones basadas en la naturaleza (SbN) para la recuperación hidráulica del Arroyo León y su interacción con la Ciénaga de Mallorquín

Abstract

El proyecto “Implementación de Soluciones Basadas en la Naturaleza (SbN) para la recuperación hidráulica del Arroyo León y su interacción con la Ciénaga de Mallorquín” se centra en abordar los problemas de inundación en las zonas aferentes al cauce y la degradación ecológica en la región comprendida entre el Arroyo León y la Ciénaga de Mallorquín. El presente informe incluye información relevante de la zona, antecedentes, todos los elementos relacionados con el estudio hidrológico e hidráulico, así como la propuesta de tres alternativas basadas en la naturaleza para mitigar la problemática y promover la biodiversidad local.

A través de la implementación de SbN tales como plantación de vegetación nativa de la zona, establecimiento de humedales en área estratégicas, implementación de lagunas de retención y mejora de la infraestructura hidráulica permitirán mejorar la capacidad de almacenamiento de agua y reducir la velocidad de la escorrentía. La implementación de este proyecto es un gran paso a la regeneración y recuperación de la fauna y flora silvestre de la zona. Este enfoque integral no solo aborda los problemas hidráulicos, sino que también promueve la sostenibilidad y resiliencia ecológica, beneficiando tanto a comunidades humanas como a los ecosistemas naturales.

The project “Implementation of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) for the hydraulic recovery of the Arroyo León and its interaction with the Ciénaga de Mallorquín” focuses on addressing flooding problems in the areas adjacent to the channel and ecological degradation in the region between the Arroyo León and the Ciénaga de Mallorquín. This report includes relevant information on the area, background, all elements related to the hydrological and hydraulic study, as well as the proposal of three nature-based alternatives to mitigate the problem and promote local biodiversity.

Through the implementation of NBS such as planting native vegetation in the area, establishing wetlands in strategic areas, implementing retention ponds and improving hydraulic infrastructure, it will improve the water storage capacity and reduce the speed of runoff. . The implementation of this project is a great step towards the regeneration and recovery of the wild fauna and flora of the area. This comprehensive approach not only addresses hydraulic problems, but also promotes ecological sustainability and resilience, benefiting both human communities and natural ecosystems.
