Red de ciclovías en la ciudad de Cartagena

Abstract

La ciudad de Cartagena no cuenta con un sistema integrado de Ciclo-Infraestructura que promueva la movilidad sostenible de una forma segura y accesible con diferentes propósitos tales como la movilidad por la ciudad para actividades cotidianas, fines deportivos y el cicloturismo. Este proyecto aborda este problema para lo cual propone tres alternativas para la implementación de una ciclorruta en la ciudad teniendo en cuenta diferentes características particulares de la zona, estas fueron evaluadas teniendo en cuenta el impacto que podrían generar en los usuarios de bicicleta, los demás actores viales y la ciudad en general. A partir de esto, determinamos que la alternativa centrada en promover el turismo en la ciudad corresponde a la más completa y beneficiosa para la zona, pues en su recorrido pasa por lugares emblemáticos y diferentes barrios, conecta el sistema masivo de transporte público y contiene parqueaderos para mejorar en puntos estratégicos, lo cual en conjunto promueve la implementación del cicloturismo en Cartagena y a su vez permite a los habitantes desplazarse a diferentes puntos recurridos de la ciudad. Con el fin de visualizar el diseño, se eligieron 2 tramos representativos de la red de aproximadamente 1 kilómetro de longitud cada uno y se expusieron todas sus especificaciones relacionadas al diseño vertical, horizontal y transversal. Además, se diseñó un sistema de drenaje con sumideros, el pavimento asfáltico, la señalización tanto para autos como para ciclistas y se estimó el presupuesto total de la obra de acuerdo con estas características junto al cronograma, a partir del cual se destinaron 3 años para la realización del proyecto.

The city of Cartagena does not have an integrated system of Cycle-Infrastructure that promotes sustainable mobility in a safe and accessible way with different purposes such as mobility through the city for daily activities, sports purposes and cycling tourism. This project addresses this problem by proposing three alternatives for the implementation of a bike-path network in the city taking into account different characteristics of the area, these were evaluated by considering the impact they could generate on bicycle users, other road actors, and the city in general. From this, we determined that the alternative focused on promoting tourism in the city corresponds to the most complete and beneficial for the area, as its route passes through emblematic places and different neighborhoods, connects the public transportation system and contains parking facilities to improve strategic points, which together promotes the implementation of cycling tourism in Cartagena and allows residents to move to different recurring points of the city. In order to visualize the design, two representative sections of the network of approximately 1 kilometer in length were chosen and all their specifications related to the vertical, horizontal and transversal design were exposed. In addition, a drainage system with sinks was designed, the asphalt pavement, the signage for both cars and cyclists and the total budget of the network was estimated according to these characteristics together with the schedule, from which were allocated 3 years for the realization of the project.
