| dc.description | In this work, the uses and appropriations of the books that 19th-century readers did in the region of the Bolivar Grande, is traced. It also identified the social and material use of the books and the construction of public libraries. Questions about how were the books read?, under what circumstances were the books read?, and what were the books read for? will allow people to observe what the reading contexts were and the areas in which the books circulated. For the purposes of this article, libraries, textbooks, books, and newspapers are seen as cultural objects that allow people to identify breaks and changes in the society in which they were issued and used. In this sense, we consider it reveals the uses given to them, the spaces in which reading practices and procedures were moved and displayed and, in general, the type of links established by readers and non readers with print culture. | |
| dc.description | En este trabajo se rastrea los usos y las apropiaciones que de los libros hicieron los lectores del siglo XIX en el Bolívar Grande. También se identifica el empleo social y material de los libros y la construcción de las bibliotecas públicas. Las preguntas ¿cómo se leía?, ¿en qué condiciones? y ¿para qué se leía?, permitirán observar cuáles fueron los escenarios de lectura y los ámbitos en que los libros circularon. Para los propósitos del artículo bibliotecas, textos escolares, libros y periódicos, son vistos como objetos culturales que permiten identificar rupturas y cambios en la sociedad en la cual se editaban y utilizaban. En este sentido, creo que revelan los usos que se le dieron, los espacios en que se movieron y desplegaron las prácticas y modalidades de lectura y, en general, el tipo de vínculos que establecieron lectores y no lectores con la cultura impresa. | |
