dc.description	Este artículo hace referencia a las inplicaciones psicológicas y a los efectos colaterales generados por la experiencia del secuestro en la víctima y sus familiares y presenta alternativas de intervención psicológica con los secuestrados y sus familias.En la primera parte, titulada «la amenaza del secuestro», se analizan todos los elementos cognitivos que se desencadenan y las emociones que se activan, lo cual genera disfuncionalidad y cambios drásticos en el estilo de vida.En la segunda parte se habla del «cumplimiento de la amenaza», y se describen los cinco momentos relevantes de esta crisis: captura, cautiverio, liberación, reencuentro familiar y superación del trauma. Se destaca el papel del acompañamiento psicológico en las distintas etapas.Se analiza la situación desde lo que en psicopatología se denomina «estrés postraumático», con sus respectivos síntomas y las necesarias restituciones a todo nivel, las cuales constituyen, en suma, el objetivo central del acompaña- miento psicológico.Palabras claves: Secuestro, víctima, intervención psicológica, amenaza, estrés postraumático, muerteThis article deals with psychological implications and side effects generated by the kidnapping experience on the victims and his relatives, and it also presents psychological intervention alternatives with the kidnapped and their family.The event of kidnapping is divided into two stages: the first stage, «the kidnapping threat», is analyzed through all the derived cognitive elements and the activated emotions which generate dysfunctions and drastic life style changes. The second stage, «fulfilling the threat», deals with the five relevant moments in this crisis: holding up, captivity, liberation, family reunion, and overcoming the trauma. The psychological assistance is enhanced in the different moments.This situation is analyzed from the psychopathology point of view. It is called post-traumatic stress, and it includes the corresponding symptoms and the necessary restitutions at all levels which are the main objective of the psychological backup.Key words: Kidnapping, victim, psychological intervention, threat, post- traumatic stress, death.Contacto: diamaria@mailcity.com
