dc.description	The aim of this paper is to show how existential psychology permits us to understand man situation in the present historical and cultural period, because it not only contextualizes the psychological and existential dilemmas of human being, but it also proposes an integrating and humanistic view regarding to health, disease, and psychotherapy. It reevaluates concepts used in Psychology such as anxiety, guilty, freedom and decision, giving them an ontological sense and placing them in a position where man must assume them with compromise in order to be able to develop his creative ability in a constructive way. Its efforts aims to solve the existent conflict between objective and subjective trends in Science. To do this, it examines the techniques and the understanding and the assumotions on which these trends are based
dc.description	Mediante este trabajo se pretende mostrar cómo la psicología existencial de Rollo May nos permite comprender la situación del hombre en el actual período histórico y cultural, debido a que no sólo contextualiza los dilemas psicológicos y existenciales del ser humano, sino que también propone una visión integradora y humanista en cuanto a la concepción de la salud, la enfermedad y la psicoterapia. Revalúa conceptos utilizados en la psicología, tales como ansiedad, culpa libertad y decisión, entre otros, y les da un sentido ontológico y los ubica en un punto donde el hombre debe asumirlos comprometidamente para poder desarrollar su potencial creador en forma constructiva. Su esfuerzo se encamina, en últimas, a dar solución al conflicto existente en la ciencia entre la tendencia objetiva y la subjetiva, para lo cual examina la técnia y la comprensión y los supuestos sobre los cuales se apoyan y sustentan éstas
