Abstract

El municipio de Santa Ana, viene presentando distintos problemas en materia educativa, uno de ellos, la baja cobertura de la educación superior. El actual Plan de Desarrollo del municipio reporta que muchos jóvenes santaneros afirman que no continúan sus estudios después del bachillerato por la dificultad para acceder a una institución de educación superior, ya que, por lo general, deben asumir los altos costos de migrar a ciudades como Santa Marta o Barranquilla, donde existe mayor oferta de programas de estudios técnicos, tecnológicos y profesionales. Ante esta situación se evidencia la necesidad de desarrollar infraestructura para la educación superior en Santa Ana. Además, en el marco del programa Abriéndole Campo al Campo, establecido en el mismo Plan de Desarrollo y llevado a cabo por la alcaldía municipal durante los últimos periodos, se propone que los nuevos proyectos vayan orientados a las actividades económicas más representativas, como lo son la agricultura, la ganadería y la pesca. Es así como surge la idea de la construcción del Instituto Tecnológico Agropecuario de Santa Ana, proyecto que contará con un bloque académico/administrativo de tres (3) pisos y parqueadero, biblioteca, cafetería, e infraestructura académico-práctica como laboratorios, campo de cultivos y tanques de piscicultura. En el Instituto se ofrecerán programas técnicos y tecnológicos enfocados a la adquisición de conocimiento y habilidades que permitan aumentar la eficiencia de los procesos de la agricultura, ganadería y pesca, y aumentar la productividad del municipio. Se proveerá cobertura a todas las zonas del municipio de Santa Ana, tanto la cabecera municipal como el área rural, y a otros municipios y centros poblados del sur del departamento. La construcción del Instituto Tecnológico Agropecuario permitirá aumentar la cobertura en materia de educación superior y fortalecer la economía del municipio, para lograr así un aporte significativo al desarrollo de Santa Ana.

The municipality of Santa Ana, has presented different problems in education, one of them, the low coverage of higher education. The current Development Plan of the municipality reports that many young people from Santana say that they do not continue their studies after high school because of the difficulty to access a higher education institution, since, in general, they must assume the high costs of migrating to cities such as Santa Marta or Barranquilla, where there is a greater supply of technical, technological and professional study programs. Faced with this situation, the need to develop infrastructure for higher education in Santa Ana is evident. In addition, within the framework of the Abriéndole Campo al Campo program, established in the same Development Plan and carried out by the municipal mayor's office during the last periods, it is proposed that the new projects be oriented towards the most representative economic activities, such as agriculture, livestock and fishing. This is how the idea of the construction of the Instituto Tecnológico Agropecuario de Santa Ana arose, a project that will have an academic/administrative block of three (3) floors and a parking lot, library, cafeteria, and academic-practical infrastructure such as laboratories, field crops and fish farming tanks. The Institute will offer technical and technological programs focused on the acquisition of knowledge and skills that will increase the efficiency of the processes of agriculture, livestock and fishing, and increase the productivity of the municipality. Coverage will be provided to all areas of the municipality of Santa Ana, both the municipal capital and the rural area, and to other municipalities and populated centers in the south of the department. The construction of the Agricultural Technology Institute will increase the coverage of higher education and strengthen the economy of the municipality, thus making a significant contribution to the development of Santa Ana.
