Sistema Integrado Para La Gestión De Equipos En Los Laboratorios De La Universidad Del Norte

Abstract

Los laboratorios de la Universidad del Norte, al igual que toda infraestructura de TI, necesitan ser renovadas constantemente. Muchas de las técnicas que son usadas en la universidad no son lo suficientemente óptimas y desaprovechan las tecnologías que existen actualmente. Al momento de realizar el préstamo de un equipo, los estudiantes desconocen el estado de dichos elementos, lo cual produce incertidumbre en ellos. Por otro lado el tiempo de atención es prolongado ya que los códigos del estudiante y del equipo son registrados manualmente por el funcionario, proceso en el cual pueden ocurrir errores de digitalización. Es necesaria una solución óptima para la logística de inventarios dentro de los laboratorios de la universidad. De este modo, con el fin de agilizar los diversos servicios que se ofrecen para los funcionarios y estudiantes, se debe entrar en un proceso de modernización del sistema para el manejo de inventario, préstamos y reservas. Estos necesitan estar enfocados en las nuevas tecnologías tales como las aplicaciones Web con toda su infraestructura en la Nube, aplicaciones móviles nativas y ejecutables de escritorio que permitan mejorar la calidad del servicio de préstamos y reservas de equipos. Durante el desarrollo de la solución del proyecto se realizaron actividades agrupadas en 10 etapas fundamentales. Cada una de ellas tuvo un tiempo de duración específico y tenía el objetivo de cumplir los requerimientos de diseño y alcances propuestos para el proyecto, así como la realización óptima de los objetivos generales y específicos. Cada una de las etapas son: Creación y desarrollo de infraestructura en la Nube, Creación y desarrollo del ejecutable, Creación y desarrollo de la página web, creación de Aplicación móvil, Desarrollo de estudio técnico y financiero de la tecnología RFID, Implementación del sistema en los laboratorios del DIEE y el LACS, Diseño y resultados del experimento para validación de la usabilidad de la herramienta web.

The laboratories of the Universidad del Norte, like all IT infrastructure, need to be constantly renewed. Many of the techniques that are used in the university are not optimal enough and they do not take advantage of the technologies that currently exist. When making the loan of equipment, students do not know the state of these elements, which produces uncertainty. On the other hand, the attention time is long since the codes of the student and the equipment are registered manually by the official, a process in which digitization errors can occur. An optimal solution is needed for inventory logistics within university labs. Thus, in order to streamline the various services offered to officials and students, a process of modernization of the system for managing inventory, loans and reserves must be entered into. These need to be focused on new technologies such as Web applications with all their infrastructure in the Cloud, native mobile applications and desktop executables that allow improving the quality of the equipment loan and reservation service. During the development of the project solution, activities grouped into 10 fundamental stages were carried out. Each of them had a specific duration and had the objective of meeting the design requirements and scope proposed for the project, as well as the optimal realization of the general and specific objectives. Each of the stages are: Creation and development of infrastructure in the Cloud, Creation and development of the executable, Creation and development of the web page, creation of Mobile Application, Development of technical and financial study of RFID technology, Implementation of the system in DIEE and LACS laboratories, Design and results of the experiment to validate the usability of the web tool.
