Riotrans, un nuevo sistema de transporte público en Riohacha

Abstract

Riohacha, la capital de la Guajira en Colombia carece en la actualidad de un servicio de transporte público. Por ende, el objetivo de nuestro proyecto es crear un sistema estratégico de transporte público que optimice los desplazamientos, y a su vez minimice la informalidad que ha afectado negativamente la eficiencia y la seguridad en el transporte. El sistema propuesto se basa en la implementación de una red de transporte público eficiente. Se incorporarán tecnologías de última generación, como sistemas de monitoreo en tiempo real y utilización de tarjetas inteligentes. Este enfoque tecnológico no solo mejorará la experiencia del usuario, sino que también permitirá un monitoreo efectivo y la implementación de medidas correctivas cuando sea necesario. Para abordar el informalismo, se establecerán normativas y controles rigurosos que regulen la operación del transporte público. Además, se implementarán programas de capacitación y sensibilización para fomentar una cultura de respeto entre los usuarios y los trabajadores del transporte público. La infraestructura vial también será objeto de mejoras significativas. Se llevarán a cabo proyectos de expansión y mantenimiento de las vías principales. Esto no solo agilizará los desplazamientos, sino que también fomentará el uso del transporte público como una alternativa viable y atractiva para la población. La sostenibilidad ambiental será una prioridad clave en el diseño del nuevo sistema, utilizando buses eléctricos. Este enfoque busca no solo reducir la huella de carbono, sino también crear conciencia sobre la importancia de la movilidad sostenible entre los habitantes de Riohacha. En términos económicos, este proyecto generará empleo a través de la expansión de la infraestructura y la formalización del sector de transporte público. Además, se espera un aumento en la productividad y competitividad de la ciudad al facilitar los desplazamientos y mejorar la conectividad entre diferentes sectores.

Riohacha, the capital of La Guajira in Colombia, currently lacks a public transportation service. Therefore, the objective of our project is to create a strategic public transportation system that optimizes travel while minimizing the informality that has negatively affected transportation efficiency and safety. The proposed system is based on the implementation of an efficient public transportation network. State-of-the-art technologies will be incorporated, such as real-time monitoring systems and the use of smart cards. This technological approach will not only improve the user experience, but will also allow for effective monitoring and the implementation of corrective measures when necessary. To address informality, stringent regulations and controls will be put in place to regulate the operation of public transport. In addition, training and awareness programs will be implemented to foster a culture of respect among users and public transport workers. The road infrastructure will also undergo significant improvements. Expansion and maintenance projects will be carried out on the main roads. This will not only speed up travel, but will also encourage the use of public transportation as a viable and attractive alternative for the population. Environmental sustainability will be a key priority in the design of the new system, using electric buses. This approach seeks not only to reduce the carbon footprint, but also to raise awareness of the importance of sustainable mobility among the inhabitants of Riohacha. In economic terms, this project will generate employment through the expansion of infrastructure and the formalization of the public transportation sector. In addition, it is expected to increase the city's productivity and competitiveness by facilitating travel and improving connectivity between different sectors.
